When did you join Northspan? What drew you to your role?

I started at Northspan in March 2023. Through previous involvement in the economic development community, I was always impressed by the great work Northspan did for the region. When I saw the open role, I jumped at the chance to apply.

Prior to joining Northspan, I was working with Lake Superior Consulting in a contract position with Enbridge as a project controls analyst. Previous to that role, I was LSC’s lead billing and accounts receivable specialist when the company was experiencing rapid growth. At that time, I worked closely with the CEO to develop processes for quicker revenue turnaround.

I also worked at the Duluth Area Chamber of Commerce as the office manager for six years. I was lucky to work closely with the president/CEO, support the board of directors, and manage the educational series, among many other duties. It was a great place to create connections and get acclimated to both the Duluth and regional economic communities.

Can you share some highlights from key projects you’ve worked on so far, and what’s up ahead?

Starting my first week, I was able to dive right in. From providing SBA 7(a) and Express loan assistance, assisting in business valuation projects, and sharing non-traditional lending information around the region, it has been extremely rewarding and fun!

What do you enjoy the most about the work you’re doing now? Is there anything else you’d like to share?

I love how dynamic it is. The variety of projects and work is interesting and there is never a boring day. I appreciate how many different communities Northspan works with and I’ve had a great time learning about them all.

I currently reside in Midway Township and I love to spend time with my husband, Travis, our children, Belle and Ole, and dog, Sally. In my spare time, I enjoy gardening, being outdoors, and reading.
