Case Study: Mineland Vision Partnership Strategic Planning

MINELAND VISION PARTNERSHIP, STRATEGIC PLANNING | 2020

Challenge:  The Laurentian Vision Partnership was a long-running group dedicated to coordination between regional partners in mining-related land use and community planning discussions, with an emphasis on creative design ideas. It sought a new strategic plan for the first time in nine years as part of a transition to Northspan’s Elissa Hansen as its new facilitator.

Role: Northspan guided LVP through a process that educated current members on the history of the organization, gathered input through survey work, and held a series of workshops to develop a new vision, mission, and set of values. Through the process, the group created four strategic directions, with action steps associated with each, to guide its work going forward. x

Results: LVP also renamed itself as the Mineland Vision Partnership (MVP) and its 2020-2025 Strategic Plan is now operational. The process had strong buy-in from MVP stakeholders and has generated strong attendance in its meetings since the new plan went into place. Northspan’s Elissa Hansen continues to facilitate the meetings.
