NORTHFORCE Responds to Covid-19

Covid-19 has ushered in radical changes to the NORTHFORCE region labor market. After years of record-low unemployment in many communities, the virus has driven dramatic spikes, including major layoffs at some of the ten-county area’s largest employers and the complete shutdown of some industries. While we hope many of these industries will be able to rebound quickly when conditions allow, NORTHFORCE also stands ready to help as area workers seek new jobs.

The NORTHFORCE team is here to support our local businesses and job seekers through this uncertain time. Many people are home and evaluating their future employment options. So, this is an opportune moment to find great candidates or explore a career change, and NORTHFORCE can help!

On NORTHFORCE.org, jobseekers will find the Northland’s best-curated, comprehensive talent portal. We offer career-oriented positions and personal support through our experienced staff. NORTHFORCE helps take the stress out of the job search process by providing timely support and focusing on job that fit workers’ skills and interests instead of drowning them in irrelevant positions. The staff also focuses on the communities we call home and works directly with area businesses to post their newest positions and connect them with additional resources to fill their needs.

Some businesses are hiring as they adapt to Covid-19 or even thriving amid creative responses to the pandemic. We also recognize that the Northland can be an attractive home in the times of a pandemic: our communities are well-built to allow for social distancing, and if you have to work remotely, why not do it with easy access to lakes, trails, and tight-knit, supportive communities? NORTHFORCE staff remain on hand to assist with all these challenges and opportunities.
